How to get Wireless Lan Atheros Cards (not working with ath5k, ath9k) to work in Fedora 9+ with NetworkManager.

Requirements

  1. Read our Getting Started with Wireless Guide.
  2. This assumes you have a working Fedora installation and that you have http://fedoramobile.org/solved/post-install-solutions/yum-config/

Doing the work

  1. Update your system
    su -c "yum update"
If your kernel was among the items updated you will want to reboot.
  2. Install the kernel module and other parts
    su -c "yum install madwifi"
    This installs all necessary files.
  3. Reboot
